This summer, math teacher Gerri Maskelony traveled to Maine to participate with teachers across the country in a NEH funded program entitled ‘Teaching about Community and Resilience with Maritime Maps’ The opportunity was hosted by the Osher Maps Library at the University of Southern Maine (Portland) and the Leventhal Map Library at Boston Public Library. Ms. Maskelony teaches an array of classes at Arlington Tech, including DE Statistics, DE Quantitative Analysis and DE Music Appreciation. After her time in Maine, Ms. Maskelony, a leader in project-based learning, will apply the resources she used in her professional development to her classes this year.
