Application Process
The application and admissions process to Arlington Tech Governor’s STEM Academy is overseen and managed by the APS central office.
The following links will bring you to an informational website about APS school options and transfers as well as an informational session about Arlington Tech.
How to Apply
The application portal for the 2025-2026 school year is now open.
Deadline for Applications: Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at 4 p.m.
Watch the LIVE lottery for all programs: Friday, Feb. 7, 2025
Seats offered to families (1st round): Friday, Feb. 7, 2025
Deadline to Accept a Seat (1st round): Friday, Feb. 21, 2025
Arlington Tech accepts 9th, 10th, and 11th graders who meet the following application requirements.
Application Requirements
9th Grade
To submit an application for 9th grade, students must:
- Be an APS student
- Have passed the 7th grade Math SOL
10th Grade
To be eligible for 10th grade, students must
- Be on track to have completed Algebra 1 and Geometry in order to be prepared to begin Algebra 2 at the start of 10th grade.
- Have earned a minimum of “C” in 8th grade science and math.
11th Grade
To be eligible for 11th grade, students must:
- Have a GPA of 3.0 in 9th grade and be on track to have completed Algebra 2 and Chemistry prior to the start of 11th grade, earning a minimum of C in the first quarter in each course.
